Saturday August 12th
August 12th everyone began to arrive in Three Lakes.  A few late arrivals threw us off schedule, but just a bit.  We ate dinner in our driveway, then headed to the Three Lakes community center for a good old-fashioned barn dance, with caller Judy Hogan.  Everyone was totally worn out by evening's end, but in good spirits and ready for a great week.

01  Joseph spent a great week with his cousin, Ryan (son of Kerry and Karen Morgan).  They had a lot in common and spent all their spare time trying to conquer an Egypt-related computer game.
02  Scott and niece, Kaitlyn, pair up for a dance.
03  This rendition of Mexican Hat Dance got a little wild.  Notice Ryan kicking Uncle Kory, and Joseph carrying Erin through the number.
04  The whole group together in a circle dance.

Sunday August 13th
Everyone descended on our branch meetinghouse in Rhinelander for church on Sunday.  Afterwards, it was time for group pictures, and then a quiet evening talking, singing, and playing Bible jeopardy.

05  The Cunningham family poses for a shot on the lawn of the church after meetings.
06  The entire group in one spot -- one of the few times this happened during the week.
07  Mom Morgan and her four children, Kenton, Kory, Kerry and Kris.
08  At home in the evening Kyrsten Morgan (far right) made a presentation to all of scarves she'd made.
09  The Cunninghams were all happy to see their new niece/cousin Jessica (Kenton/Cherie).  Here she is meeting Uncle Scott.
10  The Cunningham living room was our meeting spot.  Here we are all together on Sunday evening.

Monday August 14th
Monday after a group devotional we were off to Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River.  Three of them guided us into the Sylvania Wilderness on a day of canoeing and swimming.  Then back home for dinner and Family Home Evening.

11  Trees for Tomorrow had this sign ready for us.  Scott thought it was great that the Morgan reunion was billed as the Cunningham reunion.  Here with nieces Kyrsten and Nichelle
12  Kris out on the lake with niece Shirlyn and Shirlyn's mother, Shirley.
13
Uncle George Ogles carries Jessica back to the vans after a hike in the woods.
14  All of us wearing our Morgan Reunion T-shirts gather for a group shot.
15  We stopped by the Smet's to pick up some things and the kids got sidetracked onto their great playground.  Here Erin does her Tarzan imitation.
16  Jan Smet had found a tree loaded with artist fungus.  Here we are after having picked off our treasures.
17  Everyone drew on a fungus when we got home and created a reunion keepsake.
18  Kenton and Cherie led us in a Family Home Evening and here entertain everyone with a story.

Tuesday August 15th
Tuesday after devotional we loaded up and headed out to the Teaching Drum School, a local enterprise dedicated to teaching the ancient Indian lifestyle.  We split into groups and weaved baskets, started fires, found our way through the woods and ate local native edible plants.  Out to dinner in the evening and then home for a game night.

19  Nick and Chris, two students at the Teaching Drum school, show us a wigwam that they constructed.
20  Dinner at the Old Stag.
21  In the basement for a game of "round-robin" ping-pong.
22  A scene of mayhem as Kris leads us in a game of team pictionary.
23  Ariel was the winner -- "ta da!!"
24  Joseph lost the game of flour tower and had to retrieve the penny with his teeth.

Wednesday August 16th
Up early again.  After devotional it was time for a little community service as we worked at the Three Lakes Elementary School weeding out the primary playground and part of the parking area.  Free-time in the afternoon, then a talent show in the evening after dinner.

25  Uncle George (known this day as "the Mole") and Scott work on the weeding project.
26  In the afternoon the girl cousins headed to an old-fashioned photo place and had a portrait taken.
27  Timeliness was not a virtue of this group.  Scott rushed to the park to make sure all was ready for dinner -- then waited . . . and waited . . .
28  Uncle George and Aunt Carolyn were the hit of the talent show with their "Chef George" routine.  Aunt Carolyn was the hands and Uncle George the target as Chef George showed us how to make his specialty -- Grits Supreme!!
29  The younger cousins wrote and performed a mystery play.
30  Not to be outdone, the brothers and Scott sang an InSync number, complete with choreography -- and had all the wives swooning.
31  Erin tried to get several to sit on an egg during this little skit she led.
32  Aunt Carolyn dressed up and gave us hilarious commercial breaks, this -- an ad for a medicine that had only a few (hundred) side effects.
33  Erin and cousin Nichelled teamed up for a flute duet.
34  Joseph brought a serious note to the evening with his recitation of Kipling's immortal Gunga Din.

Thursday August 17th
Undaunted by forecast of rain, we treked up to the Cisco Chain and the ancestral stomping grounds of Kris's mother Jerrie, and her parents.  We visited Ketch's first homestead, had a treasure hunt by boat on the chain, went out to dinner in Phelps and got home late and tired.

35  Here's original Ketcham homestead on the Cisco Chain.
36  Kris' grandfather, Ketch, was the practical joker of all practical jokers.  Each faucet here has the remnants of one of his tricks -- a little hole (now sealed) on the top surface of the spout.  He'd plug the faucet with a cork and when an unsuspecting guess would turn on the water they'd get blasted in the face with a cool jet.
37  The whole gang in front of the Ketcham cabin.
38  Kris and her crew, off on the treasure hunt.
39  Uncle George looked like something out of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  If you notice, Kory is holding a walkie-talkie.  Each car when we traveled, or each boat, or cabin in the evening had one.  They helped a lot in keeping in touch and coordinating what we were doing.

Friday August 18th
Friday after devotional we headed to the school for a tour of where Scott works, and to view a slideshow of several hundred photos taken during the week.  Then it was up to Eagle River for a leisurely float down the Wisconsin River.  A closing activity in the evening and the reunion was history.

40  This class was not well-behaved.  The gang impatiently awaits the start of the slide-show in Scott's classroom.
41  Joseph with his cousins Shirlyn and Ryan.
42  Ariel catches a ride with her Uncle Kory.
43  Joseph floats into view on the river.
44  Water is not Ammon's favorite thing.
45  Kris hated to see it all come to an end.
46  The kids get to break a piņata as part of the closing activity.
47  Aaaaah!!! These guys know how to end the day, and a great reunion.  Joseph and Ammon with cousins Ryan and KC.
